About Me

Preston Smith served for eight years as a senator in the Georgia state legislature, as well as working for several years as an attorney, and he currently holds a leadership position at ApolloMD in Atlanta. Beyond his professional achievements, Preston Smith is also highly productive in his remaining personal time, involving himself in renovation work, article writing, and community service, including with his local Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and the American Heart Association.

Sen. Smith and his wife, Liz, a neonatal intensive care nurse, are active in their local church activities as well. Together, they teach Sunday school for adult classes of more than 60 participants, and they have participated in church-organized humanitarian aid including a mission trip to Lima, Peru.

The Smiths have developed a love of world travel, visiting European historic sites in Rome, Vatican City, Athens and Iceland, as well as destinations throughout the Americas, including Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean Islands. They maintain a blog about their travels together at www.SouthernReflections.net, and articles containing the former senator’s humor and observations can be found at an online community magazine, Vinings Lifestyle, at http://www.viningslifestyle.com.
